GENE TUNNEY ART

I am a self-taught artist. I like working in all mediums especially oil, acrylics, watercolour, plaster and clay. Often inspired by nature, I am particularly interested in light and colour combinations.

Born in Nottingham, my career in London as a pâtissier and chocolatier in Michelin starred restaurants The Boulestin and The Ivy offered many opportunities for creative expression, including chocolate and ice sculptures and cocoa paintings – for which I received Salon Culinaire International awards.
I also ran my own patisserie businesses and taught at FE Colleges.

I then spent 16 years living in France, where I attended art workshops, along with other artists both amateur and professional and led by an RA member. Inspired by the light and landscapes of the Charente Maritime this is where my passion for painting really took off.

On returning to Nottingham in 2016 I joined the Nottingham Society of Artists. I often exhibit my works at the various exhibitions in the gallery. I enjoy spending time painting and creating at my studio in my home in Beeston.
